2023 Share the Joy Christmas Drive Spread the
gladness of the season by joining in the Share the Joy Christmas Drive held by
Twelve Baskets Ministry. The drive will be a combination of purchasing actual
gifts, doing some online shopping, or donating money for the purchase of gift
cards. You can help by doing one or more of the options listed below on or
before Sunday, December 3rd.
Twelve baskets invites you to bring joy to others during the Christmas season in the following ways:
Option 1: Risen Christ School’s “Adopt-a-Family.”
Risen Christ School requested we help with their Adopt-a-Family Christmas event again this year. The donations will be used for basic needs such as food, clothing, household items, bedding, etc. A gift of $50 would support one person and $200 would support a family of four - but how much to give is completely up to you. How? 1.) Contribute any amount to a fund for gifts. CLICK HERE to make a donation of any amount online. Or 2.) Bring or mail a check for any amount addressed to Pax Christi to the Pax Christi office or metal lock box by the reception desk. Put “Risen Christ School” on the memo line. We will use this fund to purchase gift cards to be equally divided amongst the families in need.
Option 2: Children of Gichitwaa Kateri Church.
Pax Christi has provided presents for the Faith Formation Christmas party at Kateri Church for many years. Paper ornaments with the gender and age of a child will be available after the masses at a table at the back of the church on the weekends of November 18-19, 25-26, and possibly December 2-3. Stop by and pick one up, shop, and then deliver the unwrapped gift to the red bins at Pax Christi by December 3rd. Suggested gift amount is $35-40.
Option 3: Agate Housing and Services (formerly St. Stephen’s Men’s Shelter and House of Charity).
The needs of the homeless served by Agate are for “the basics,” and give comfort in difficult living situations. Agate has an Amazon “Share Joy! Wishlist” online. Simply CLICK HERE to shop now! Items you purchase will be sent directly to the charity. Agate requests that you note on the gift receipt that you are from Pax Christi.
Option 4: Little Earth Seniors and Young Mothers.
This year we are once again providing small gifts for the seniors group and the young mothers group at Little Earth, a Native American housing complex in Minneapolis. We will have a suggested ideas list for you at our information table in the back of the church on the weekends of November 18-19, 25-26, and December 2-3. You are asked to bring the unwrapped gifts to the red bins at Pax Christi by December 3rd.
LASTLY: You
can also help out by simply bringing or sending a check addressed to Pax
Christi to the office or the metal lock box by the reception desk. Please put “Share the Joy” on the memo
line. It is due by December 3rd, but if
you donate by November 29, we will have more time to shop. We will put your funds where giving is the
lightest.
