Justice Grants

The Pax Christi Justice Grant Board is seeking new members to join the work of reviewing grant applications and awarding grants to organizations whose mission is to support education and housing for people living in poverty. Each year the Justice Grant Board meets from September to June to learn about the work of organizations that we currently support through our justice grants and to review new applications. Each grant board member serves as the Pax Christi liaison to one of our grantee organizations, forging a deepening of relationship around the good work that they are doing and making connections for the Pax Christi community to engage with them. Meetings in March, April, and May center on review and decision making for grants awarded in the current fiscal year. Click on the video to hear from our Justice Grant Board about the experience of serving on the board and what it has meant to them. History of Pax Christi Justice Grants

Since its founding Pax Christi has set aside funds from regular donations to make our contribution to furthering goals of Catholic Social Teaching.  Current Pax Christi efforts are focused in the areas of education and homelessness, historically in the inner city.

We seek to leverage our contributions by working to develop a relationship with our grants recipients through encouraging members of our community to donate their time and talents as volunteers and supporters to them.

Joining the Justice Grant Board
Pax Christi’s Justice Grant Board reviews applications and awards a portion of our parish annual revenue in the form of grants to organizations addressing homelessness and childhood development for children living in poverty. Contact Joan Howe-Pullis, jhowe-pullis@paxchristi.com, for additional information.

Granting Process
Existing grants are reviewed annually and amounts are adjusted based on the need and available parish resources.  Possibilities for new grants are also evaluated yearly.
