An Invitation to Live Into Your Baptismal Call
Lay Leaders are ordinary members of the church who work along side the Pastor to uphold the mission and vision of the church. Through Baptism, we are all called to serve the church and to serve one another.
Baptism
“Baptism as a way to the freedom of the children of God and as a way to a life in community calls for a personal commitment."
- Henri Nouwen
The
sacrament of Baptism is an outward expression of God’s love. “I have called you by name; you are mine.” Isaiah 43:1. Baptism is
the beginning of a divine invitation or “call” to join in the sacred work of
discipleship. Baptism blesses us with the gifts of faith, hope, and love in our
lifelong call to follow Christ. The good news is that we do not labor alone. We
work alongside members of our beloved Pax Christi community. We recognize that together
as disciples we are called to heal, mend,
repair, and extend ourselves in joyful service of God.
Pax
Christi invites adults and youth in senior high to explore A Calling to Leadership to decide
if you are being called to serve on a Pax Christi Council. Pax Christi Councils
are visionary, “action-oriented,” and work alongside the Pastor to build, A Welcoming Catholic Community.
