Program Year: Will
begin the week of October 1 and conclude the week of April 28.
Online Registration: Online registration will be open on
or before April 15, and we will be
closing registration on August 1.
Participation by children and youth is contingent upon adult volunteers. Be advised that if we do not have enough leaders for a particular program or age group, some groups may be delayed in starting and/or canceled for the year.

Program Days and Times: We
will continue to offer programming on Sunday evenings, as this has
traditionally been our most popular day and time. In an effort to provide an
alternative for families, we are introducing a new family-based model that will
gather once a month on Wednesdays.
Program Costs: Program costs for either Faith Formation option helps cover materials provided to participants. If you have any questions or if you are in need of financial support please contact Scott Brazil, Director of Faith Formation, at

- Sunday Night Traditional Faith Formation - $85.00/youth participant, with a family cap of $200.00.
Please Note: Full tuition scholarships will be granted to families that serve as a catechist, catechist assistant, small group leader, or hall monitor. Opportunities to sign-up for these volunteer opportunities will be included on the registration form. - Family Faith Formation - $85.00/family. We are offering this reduced rate because this option meets less often, as well as to encourage families to consider participating in faith formation together.

Sunday Night Traditional Faith Formation
Pax Christ is first and foremost a Eucharistic community, so we are placing a special emphasis on participation in the weekly celebration of mass! In the spirit of Vatican II, we are including “full, conscious, active participation” in weekly mass as part of the program, as the Eucharist in the “source and summit of the Christian life.” This is an invitation to not only the children and youth, but the entire family, as the "domestic church" is foundational to spiritual growth.
All programs for Pre-K through high school will be offered on Sunday evenings from 5:00-7:00pm. A snack will be provided in between the conclusion of mass and the start of the small group gatherings. More nutritious options will be made available this year. The schedule for the evening is as follows:
- Celebration of Mass in the Main Worship Space: 5:00-6:00pm
- Faith Formation Small Group Gatherings: 6:00-7:00pm
Opportunities for the children and youth to actively serve in age appropriate roles during the mass will be included in the program. We believe strongly that this shift in placing a renewed emphasis on participation in the mass and making it the central focus of our program will prove to be a fruitful experience for everyone.

Family Faith Formation Program
In an effort to support and encourage families to grow in their faith together, as well as offer alternatives for families that already have busy schedules, we are offering a new family-based program. This program will meet on the first Wednesday of every month from 5:30-6:30 pm. The sessions will begin with a large-group catechetical session, followed by participation in the Eucharistic liturgy. These liturgies will be “teaching masses” that will help the participants gain a deeper understanding of what we do when we celebrate the Eucharist. Following mass, we will offer additional youth ministry programming for middle and high school youth.
Non-Baptized children and youth participating in the Family Faith Formation Program that are also preparing to receive sacraments in the Spring of 2024 will have additional gatherings focused on preparation for those celebrations.

Sacramental Policies
The sacrament preparation process is part of our faith formation programs. This includes the sacrament of First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, and Confirmation. It is our policy that, in order to participate in the sacrament preparation process, your child needs to either be registered and regularly attending one of our faith formation programs the entire year before and the year of the sacrament, or attending a Catholic school. Minimum age requirements for the sacraments are as follows:
- First Reconciliation & First Eucharist: Grade 2 and Older
PLEASE NOTE: Large Group Preparation experiences will take place on
Sunday evenings for both First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. All participants are welcome!
- Confirmation: Grade 10 and Older
Children and teens who have not been baptized will work individually with the Director of Faith Formation to prepare, and will most likely celebrate Baptism at the Easter Vigil.
We also want to stress that faith formation really is a lifelong commitment. We often times see a drop-off in program participation the year after celebrating First Eucharist, and perhaps not seeing the children again until it is time for Confirmation. We encourage your children and teens to remain active in those “non-sacrament” years so that their faith can continue to be nourished, strengthened, and deepened.
