household wealth differences, the impact of Jim Crow laws, home ownership, and
the criminal justice system.
The Forgotten Slavery of Our Ancestors
This 12- minute video offers an introduction to the history of Indigenous enslavement
on land that is now the United States. The opening which talks about Thanksgiving
helps provide a frame of reference for false history that many people were
taught about the United States’ relationship with Indigenous people, which
leads into an important historical lesson on slavery.
