More than 50 years ago, People Reaching Out to People (or PROP) was founded on the principle of neighbors helping neighbors, by donating time, food, and money to those in need. More recently, we expanded our services to not only meet the basic needs of the 1,200 families we serve, but also provide support as clients build a more secure future.

Located in South Minneapolis, Risen Christ Catholic School is a dual-language, faith-based K–8 institution serving a diverse student body, predominantly Latino. The school provides academic excellence through bilingual education while emphasizing spiritual development and community involvement.

Ascension Catholic School partners with the SLAM (Science, Language, Arts & Math) program to offer after-school enrichment opportunities for North Minneapolis youth. Together, they provide academic support, mentorship, and creative outlets that build confidence and educational achievement in under-served communities.

MoveFwd serves youth and young adults experiencing housing instability in the western suburbs of Hennepin County. Offering case management, counseling, and transitional housing services, MoveFwd empowers young people to navigate challenges and achieve independence.

This Minneapolis-based nonprofit encompasses both a shelter and an adult education center. The housing program offers emergency shelter and permanent supportive housing for adults experiencing homelessness, while the English Learning Center supports adult immigrants and refugees through accessible language education.

YouthLink is a trusted resource hub for young people experiencing homelessness. Operating in downtown Minneapolis, YouthLink connects youth ages 16–24 with housing, healthcare, education, and employment support—helping them find pathways to stability and hope.

Focused on addressing youth homelessness, Avenues for Youth provides safe and stable housing options, including emergency shelter and long-term transitional housing. Their approach centers youth voice and identity, particularly supporting LGBTQ+ and BIPOC youth in building strong, self-directed futures.

Peace House offers a unique refuge in South Minneapolis for individuals experiencing homelessness, poverty, or isolation. More than a drop-in center, it fosters spiritual community, daily meals, and conversation circles - encouraging dignity, connection, and personal growth.

This program supports women transitioning from incarceration by addressing the root causes of recidivism. Through mentorship, life skills training, and community-building, Sisters Helping Sisters helps women rebuild their lives and reintegrate into society with confidence and purpose.

The Lift Garage provides low-cost car repair services for Minnesotans living on low incomes. By offering reliable transportation, they help clients maintain employment, access essential services, and gain mobility—a crucial step toward economic stability.

Emma Norton Services provides supportive housing and services for women and gender-diverse individuals who are homeless and living with mental illness or trauma. Their holistic programs focus on recovery, empowerment, and community reintegration.

Casa Guadalupana is a house of hospitality for asylum seekers and immigrant families in need of transitional housing and support. Rooted in Catholic social teaching, it offers a safe, nurturing environment where families can heal, build community, and move forward.
