Small Christian Community Group Leader

The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ?

 ~ 1 Corinthians 10:16

Call of the Disciples, Donald Jackson, Copyright 2002, The Saint John’s Bible, Saint John’s University, Collegeville, Minnesota USA. Used by permission. All rights reserved.

WHAT IS THIS MINISTRY?

As part of the Archdiocesan Synod effort to establish a significant Small Christian Community ministry in the parish, leaders will work with parish staff to identify a group topic/theme. We will assist you in identifying materials to use (books, videos, discussion series, etc.) and will provide initial staff involvement with your group before turning the group completely over to you. During the gatherings, it is not the facilitator’s role to teach but, rather, keep the discussion moving.

WHO CAN MINISTER?

Adults, ages 18 and up.

TIME COMMITMENT

Time commitment will vary, according to the number of gatherings a leader is willing to facilitate. They could be as few as once a month or as often as once a week. It is up to the group leader as to when to take breaks for the summer, etc. In other words, the time commitment is simply the amount of time you are willing and able to offer!

HOW DO I GET STARTED?

Training, materials, and ongoing support are provided. It is recommended (not required) that small group leaders participate in the Archdiocesan Small Group Leader training series in the Fall of 2023.
