To fight
racism, Catholics must hunger for justice like we do for the Eucharist
In
this article, written during the Pandemic and after the killing of George
Floyd, the editors of America magazine, relate our hunger for the Eucharist,
that we cannot easily partake in, to the need for a felt hunger for justice for
our black and brown brothers and sisters. The authors encourage us as
individuals and a church to heal the sin of racism through our actions of
repentance, presence, formation and prayer.
Racial Justice – Ignatian Solidarity Network
This Catholic
network is inspired by the spirituality of St. Ignatius of Loyola and the witness
of the Jesuit martyrs of El Salvador and their companions. Our faith can be an
important lens as we analyze the realities of racism and racial justice and
discern the steps towards social action. This website houses many resources
such as links to articles, exercises, toolkits, book titles, videos, prayers,
and resources for parishes etc. that are from a Catholic, Jesuit perspective.
An excellent website for those wishing to further use the lens of their
Catholic faith to engage in social action.
