Lenten Regulations for Fasting and Abstinence
Fasting Restricting eating to one full meal and two lighter meals in the course of a single day; prohibits eating between meals for Catholics beginning at age 18 until their 59th birthday. Pregnant women and people who are sick are not obligated to fast. Such fasting is obligatory on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.
Abstinence Catholics older than 14 years of age may not eat meat on Ash Wednesday or on any Friday of Lent.
Lenten Cross Exhibit Remember to visit the Cross Exhibit which is on display through Holy Week in the Pacem in Terris Gallery in the Martin Luther King, Jr., Room (#247) near door #3. The exhibit will generally be available when the building is open unless the room is in use for a scheduled meeting. The exhibit, presented by the Pax Christi Art Committee, will include framed art and over 40 wall crosses and processional crosses.
