Archbishop John Nienstedt has put together a video of his Homily for the First Sunday of Advent to mark his first Advent as our new Archbishop. That video will be available to view on this web site beginning November 29.
Open the door and answer God's call to Stewardship as a way of life. We ask each household to devote some time to prayerfully considering how you would like to share your time, talent, and treasure with Pax Christi Catholic Community and then return your annual renewal materials as soon as possible. Committing to how you plan to share your gifts with our community in the upcoming year helps us plan effectively for worship, education, facility, and hospitality needs. Your generous answers on the commitment card and the ministry/activity sign-up form help us move forward the mission and vision of this faith community. Your response of time, talent, and treasure also allows us to answer those in need who knock on our door for assistance with outreach, social justice initiatives, or pastoral care needs. Reviewing your gifts to this community on an annual basis is a great way to pause and reflect on your relationship with Jesus Christ, as well as how you can best share your gifts of time, talent, and treasure to open the door and answer God's call. We invite you to step over the threshold and accept God's call to follow the journey of stewardship as a way of life. We thank you in advance for your prompt and generous response. Stewardship is a way of life. If you have questions on how best to share your time, talents, and treasure, feel free to contact our Director of Stewardship, Mary Kennedy, mkennedy@paxchristi.com or 952-405-7220.
Catholic Campaign for Human Development Collection is November 22 and 23 Twelve national collections were created by the bishops of the United States to support the church's works of social justice, evangelization and education both in our country and across the world. These collections occur at various times during the year. The Catholic Campaign for Human Development occurs on November 22 and 23. According to their website (www.usccb.org/cchd), 9.9% of our population, or 37 million Americans, live in poverty. The Catholic Campaign for Human Development works to uphold the dignity of human life by breaking the cycle of poverty across the United States through grants to local community-based groups who create jobs, improve education, and strengthen neighborhoods. 25% of the collection stays in our dioceses to fund local anti-poverty projects; 75% supports national grant and education programs. Please give generously to the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. Use the specially marked envelope you received in your home, or mark your donation for the CCHD. Be a part of the numbers who care. |
