Confirmation Grades 10 and older
Confirmation is one of the three sacraments of initiation. It is another step in the life long process of journeying with one another toward God. Youth in the 10th grade and older are invited to prepare for this sacrament at Pax Christi, along with the support of their family and a sponsor. Because confirmation is not “graduation” or completion of faith formation, all students are expected to be involved in on-going faith formation, in addition to these immediate preparation sessions. Students may choose to register for Sunday or Wednesday evening formation sessions.
Confirmation candidates are expected to complete a minimum of two service projects during the year and write a reflection on these experiences. Guidelines for the reflections will be handed out at the first Student/Sponsor session and will be posted on the website. Service reflections should be turned in to the Confirmation Coordinator by the Apr. 20 Student/Sponsor session.
Students are expected to participate in a day-long, on-site retreat. They will have their choice of three dates: February 9, February 23 or March 15 Students will need to indicate their preference at the Jan. 20 Student/Sponsor session.
Pax Christi will celebrate the sacrament of Confirmation May 5, 2008, 7:00pm at the Cathedral of St. Paul.
