Blood Drive

The word ‘to bless’ is in Latin beatus, meaning to be fortunate or happy but even more significantly, remaining close to God. So giving blessing should spill over into life and bring it a joyous fullness….
When I am fully alive I look around me with eyes that are open, astonished, and ears that are attentive, and as a result I experience all of life as gift.  This is simply the logical conclusion of everything that I have been exploring: to see the world as gift and to respond with gratefulness – indeed Brother David Stendl-Rast says that being grateful leads into a life of fullness….

You are a child of God…        –Nelson Mandela
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us, it’s within everyone.
And as we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

–Excerpts from Lost in Wonder: Recovering the Spiritual Art of Attentiveness by Esther de Waal

Did You Know?
Throughout our 30-year history as a parish, blood donors from Pax Christi Catholic Community have impacted and saved many thousands of lives by their generous gifts of blood.  Human blood is unique – there is no substitute.  The hour you spend donating blood is a gift that will directly bless the life of another child of God.

Blood Drives are held quarterly at Pax Christi.  Call Mary Ann Callahan in Pastoral Care, 952-405-7227, for more information.
