Stewardship, according to Jesus Christ, is the way to live our lives. It is answering the call and realizing that all we have received are blessings from God. Every gift, every talent, all of our resources, our relationships, this earth, our world; all are gifts from God. Stewards are asked to accept these gifts with grateful hearts build up these gifts and, with a spirit of generosity, share them with others. Stewardship becomes much more than giving a few moments of spare time, and some spare change to your church. It is truly a journey of discovery. Who am I? Why am I here? Where am I going? What can I do to make a difference?
We ask each household of Pax Christi to review the Time, Talent, and Treasure that you have generously shared with our community in the past year and to renew your commitment for the next calendar year. Even if you decide to keep everything the same as in previous years, or are unable to make a commitment at this time, we still would like you to return your stewardship commitment card along with those notations.
In a departure from previous years, and in an effort to be responsible stewards of the resources you have shared with us, we will not be contracting with an outside firm to call and remind you to return your commitment card. We ask that you take the time as soon as possible to review your existing commitment, decide how you will share your gifts in the next year, and fill out and return the commitment card, either by mailing it, bringing it to the parish office, or dropping it into the collection basket during Mass.
Discovering who each of us truly is, developing our relationship with Jesus Christ, taking the gifts and talents we have been blessed with and working on them to make us the best we can be; sharing our resources with our family, our parish and the greater world, all is part and parcel of living as a Christian steward. Stewardship - it's a journey of a lifetime.
