Resource Group for Male Caregiver’s of Alzheimer’s Patients
Resource Group for Male Caregivers of Alzheimer's Patients Meetings are held last Thursday of each month, 1:30–3:00pm
In families where women have served as the primary caregivers for decades, men are often unprepared and overwhelmed when faced with the role of caregiving. Our purpose is to provide a safe, confidential environment where men can:
• Exchange practical information on caregiving challenges and methods for dealing with them; • Learn about the services of the Alzheimer’s Association and other community resources; • Establish connections with other individuals and families who they can contact for information and support; • Learn the importance of taking care of themselves as they perform this challenging and demanding job; • Experience a brief respite period in a community of others sharing the same burdens.
Please contact Fred, 612-382-3890, with any questions you may have. Otherwise, simply come to the next scheduled meeting on the last Thursday of each month at 1:30 PM. Meetings are held at Pax Christi (Room 24 by Door #3) and are sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association.
Contact: Jane Schmitz, Director of Pastoral Care, 952-405-7238, with questions.
